The Proposal - Map

I have integrated Google Maps into the website so that you can quickly identify the exact geographic location of the proposed motorcross track. The Google map is facing North-up. The gravel pit is to the right (East) of the red marker at the center of the map. The street address for the gravel pit is 19000 Yew Way, but I have placed the red marker just slightly North of that address since the gravel pit shares a common easement with other businesses in that location.
  • Click on the Hybrid button to see the roads overlaid on a satellite image of the Maltby area. The satellite image provided by Google is likely not current, but it is sufficient for the purpose of the website.
  • Click on the + or - buttons (top left corner) to zoom in or out on the map, or drag the slider bar using your mouse.
  • Use the four navigation arrows (top left corner) to move the map, or you may simply drag the map around using your mouse.
Still not sure where the proposed motorcross track would be located? Zoom out two clicks and then click on the red markers to identify popular landmarks such as the Maltby Community Park, the Maltby Cafe, Flower World, or Bob's Corn. I have also included markers for the two proposed, primary access points for traffic to the motorcross track - the intersection of SR522 and Fales Road, and the intersection of SR9 and 180th Street SE in Clearview.

Below is the Site Plan from the MXGP proposal. A large, detailed version of this document is available for download on the Proposal web page. The diagram is also facing North-up so that it is properly aligned with the Google Map. You can use Google Maps in Hybrid mode, zoom in on the existing gravel pit, and see how MXGP proposes to use the 58 acres. My comments/interpretation:
  • The entrance off of Yew Way is near the upper-left corner of this diagram (next to the word Everett). We assume that the entrance off of Yew Way remains "as is" and that there are no plans to allow access to/from 109 Avenue SE (upper right corner).
  • Phase 1 involves the significant enhancement of the lower part of the 58 acres to create a basin (the track), a raised spectator area around the entire basin, and a paved parking area (in the lower left corner of this diagram - shaded with a dashed line around it).
  • The contour lines around the center of the Phase 1 basin represent a rise of five (5) feet between each line. The planned berm will rise approximately 25 feet above the floor of the basin.
  • The other side of the berm (away from the basin) will slope downward.
  • In approximately 2013, MXGP proposes that Phase 2 would involve a new, large building on the North end of the gravel pit. This building would house an indoor riding facility.
