Supporting Organizations

These organizations agree that the MXGP proposal is simply incompatible with our wonderful and serene community. I strongly encourage you to patronize these organizations with your business, or just stop in and say hello. Let them know that you are thankful for their support.

The organizations are listed in alphabetical order.

Complete Carpet Care
(425)802-3103
Complete Carpet Care is committed to preserving the community that we love, and has generously volunteered to donate 10% of each sale in the Maltby-Clearview area to help fund our community's legal defense (the Maltby Clearview Community Coalition) with Bricklin, Newman & Dold.
Flower World, Inc.
www.flowerworldusa.com
Flower World has been a member of the Maltby community since the early 70's. Flower World opposes the MXGP proposal based on the following:
  • There is a 50-100 foot ridge West of the Maltby pit, on which many houses have been built. MXGP has been quoted as saying that the noise would travel upwards like a mushroom cloud, and indeed that would happen... impacting these residences. There would also be a noise problem for residences on the East side of the pit.
  • Approximately 100,000 customers visit Flower World each year, and a large reason for visiting is the setting and ambiance. At present one can already hear the dump trucks unloading at the gravel pit from Flower World's location. The continuous noise from the proposed motorcross track could cause a 20% (20,000) reduction in the number of customers of Flower World coming to Maltby for its serenity. Where is then the purported benefit of bringing more people to Maltby for a motorcross track if we are losing them at the other end?
  • A few years ago enough signatures were collected to create the Town of Maltby. The Snohomish County Council is in favor of the idea and the boundary of the proposed Town would certainly include the gravel pit at 19000 Yew Way. Therefore, it would be foolish to agree to any proposal like this inside future city limits.
Quality Concrete Quality Concrete supports a quiet community. We are concerned about the noise and traffic from the proposed motocross track.
